Hanusha began her journey in Bharathanatyam at the tender age of 5 at the Temple of Fine Arts, under the tutelage of her Aadhi Guru, the late Shri Sivadass. Upon his demise in 1986, she continued the divine journey under Shrimathi Radha Shetty. She also studied under the guidance of the late Guru Shri Adyar K. Lakshman, in India. She has performed extensively at many local and international venues.

Hanusha is versatile in other dance forms including Odissi, semi-classical, fusion and basic contemporary. She has worked in productions such as Butterfly Lovers, Inheritance Dance Voyage, SIBU and Saptarang International Dance Festival, Mahsuri (collaboration with Istana Budaya, also featuring her vocal talents and her voice for the female lead).

In 2006, she won the title Dancer of the Year 2006 in a national level Bharathanatyam Competition by the Cine Fashion Magazine. Apart from her dance voyage, Hanusha is well-versed in Carnatic music, where her journey began at the age of 5, under Guru Shrimathi Sivamani Selliah and the late Guru Shri Nagasamy Bhagavathar.

She has won many national and state level Thevaram competitions, and was the state champion in the year 1989-1990. She also trained for a short duration under Guru Shrimathi Suryakala in India. She has learnt veenai under Guru Shrimathi Meenakshi and is currently under Guru Shri Kuhan. She holds a Masters in Counselling and is a licensed Family and Marriage Counselling Psychologist.

She is an educator, Head of Students Affairs and a counselor with an International School in KL. She is on her next journey of to pursue her PhD in Educational Psychology in the near future. She is proud mother of 3 young children. She is currently the Principal of Dakshra Fine Arts Puchong Utama and is also the Bharathanatyam and Sangeetham teacher at DFAPU.
